“Bru… there is a Fest… and it looks epic!” – some guy that saw our TikTok videos (probably).

But yes, there is a fest. BRUFEST. And in 2025 we’re raising our glasses for the 12th instalment. That’s right: twelve years of beer, beats, and the kind of memories that only Hogshead can deliver.

So let’s take a little not-so-boring history lesson. If history isn’t your thing, no worries, just skip straight to the part where we tell you all the juicy bits so you don’t miss out. If history is your thing, stick around, there might be a cool prize in it for you.

BruFest is our annual birthday bash, Hogshead’s way of saying, “We’ve made it another year, let’s celebrate with beer!”

Think of it as part beer festival (the name says it all), part birthday party, and all-round excuse to enjoy:

• 2013
  The first ever BruFest! No frills, no theme, just beer and birthday cheer.
• 2014–2017
  BruFest rocked every year, but we felt something was missing, a theme perhaps?
• 2018
  Yip, you guessed it, our first BruFest theme: Beer Funny T-Shirts, basically, dad jokes with hops. Like, “I wish you were beer” or “In dog beers I’ve only had 1”
• 2019 – #BeerTruths
  Brutally honest confessions. Don’t be shy… Our comment section is open, this is a safe space.
• 2020
  No theme – we were all so lost in this lockdown paranoia…
• 2021 – You Will Drink Beer!
  A hypnotic theme… though honestly, looking back, nobody needed convincing.
• 2022 – Carnival!
  Bright, bold, festive, where the only juggling act was balancing your beer with a burger.
• 2023 – At The Movies
  From The Lager King to Draught Vader, BruFest went full Hollywood.
• 2024 –Superpowers!
  Because let’s face it, making a pint vanish in seconds is a superpower.
• 2025 – BruFest Over the Years.
  A “greatest hits” celebration of every joke, pint, and theme that’s kept this tradition alive.

Hogshead is more than just a pub, it’s a community. BruFest is our way of thanking every regular, every first-timer, every “just popping in for one” (who stays for six). It’s our annual tradition of raising a glass together and celebrating beer, food, music, and most importantly, people.
